Dimitri has been involved with the capital markets of Russia since their inception and founded Verno Capital in late 2009. In 2002 Dimitri co-founded Kazimir Partners and launched one of Russia’s first hedge funds. Before this, Dimitri was Head of Proprietary Equity Trading at MDM Bank (one of Russia’s largest commercial banks) from 2001-2002. Prior to MDM, he participated in the establishment of Renaissance Capital in 1995, where he initially built-out the research function before moving on to become Head of Equity Trading until 2001. Dimitri began his research experience in 1994 at CSFB in Moscow as their first Russia-dedicated research analyst. Between 1994-1995, he was instrumental in building their research team, which ranked as the 1994 No. 1 All-Europe Research Team by Institutional Investor, and led the development of the CSFB ROS Index. Dimitri began his career in 1992 as a junior member of the World Bank team that advised the Russian Government on privatization of state property.
Dimitri graduated in International Economics from the Moscow Institute for International Relations (MGIMO). He is a Russian citizen and fluent in English.
